Elsa “Elsie” Hulda Kipp

Funeral Services for Elsie Kipp, 89, of Giddings, were held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner officiating.

Elsa “Elsie” Hulda (Seemann) Kipp was born on July 4, 1926 in North Zulch, Texas, the daughter of Reinhold & Albertine (Weise) Seemann. She was baptized on September 5, 1926 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in North Zulch by Rev. Hugo Roitch and was confirmed on April 21, 1940 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings by Rev. G.W. Fischer. Elsie was united in marriage to Eddie Edwin Kipp on January 8, 1947 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings by Rev. S.T. Schroeder. She and Eddie made their home in Giddings where they, along with Adolph & Mamie Seemann, owned and operated Seemann & Kipp Automotive. She also had worked at The Sweet Shop, Pieratt’s Pharmacy and Country Subs. As a homemaker, she babysat and cared for all of her grandchildren and many of the neighborhood children as well. Elsie was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she had been involved in the Ladies Aid, made hymnal bookmarks, was a member of the prayer circle, attended Bible study and hosted bible studies in her home. She also volunteered her time working with the Lutheran Braille Workers and Rejuvenation. Elsie enjoyed gardening, bird watching, crocheting, baking cookies and painting. Elsie passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Heart Hospital of Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Eddie Kipp; four brothers, John Seemann, Theodore Seemann, Henry Seemann & his wife, Annie and Adolph Seemann; one sister, Frieda Schulz & her husband, Paul, and two sisters-in-law, Ella Farrack & her husband, Richard and Bernice Krenek & her husband, Hilton.

Elsie is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol & Darrell Behrens of Giddings, Beverly & Jack Hamilton of Giddings and Bonnie & Rick Moreau of Giddings; nine grandchildren, Troy Behrens and his wife, Heather of Giddings, Justin Behrens & his wife, Brittany of Giddings, Kara Brewerton & her husband, Nathan of Bastrop, Ryan Hamilton & his wife, Tiffani of Midland, Larissa Keller & her husband, Frankie of Greenwood, Clay Hamilton & his wife, Amy of British Columbia, Canada, Linzee Hamilton & her husband, Mario Jio of San Angelo, Nicole Smith & her husband, Corey of Giddings and Kyle Moreau & his wife, Marissa of The Woodlands; twenty two great grandchildren, Taylor, Bristen, Braden, Emma, Collin, Avery, Evan, Hunter, Jordyn, Brooklyn, Hunter, Harlee, Chase, Baby Keller (on the way), Hallie, Braylon, Klarissa, Eli, Conner, Blake, Noah and Sophia; two sisters-in-law, Mamie Seemann of Giddings and Barbara Dromgoole & her husband, Ken of Plano, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
