Clara Gertrude (Exner) Reveley-Pecht

Funeral services for Clara Gertrude (Exner) Reveley- Pecht, 100 of Houston, are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Houston with Rev. Grant W. Housewright officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with a Prayer Service being held Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Clara Gertrude (Exner) Reveley-Pecht was born in Giddings, Texas on August 22, 1915 to Samuel Otto & Theresa Marie (Noack) Exner. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas. Clara was a longtime member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Houston where she served on the altar guild. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers, crocheting, traveling and volunteering at her church. Clara was blessed with a long, active and independent life.

She passed away the afternoon of Friday, September 4, 2015 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange following a brief illness.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Maynard Reveley and Jack Pecht; five sisters, Mary Exner, Elna Exner, Lillie Glona, Ruby Lerche and Mandy “Dolly” Price; three brothers, Herbert Exner, Theodore “Ted” Exner and Leroy Exner, and a nephew, Chester Exner.

She is survived by her sister, Irene Nittsche of Fedor; her sister-in-law, Esther Exner of Lincoln, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Clara’s nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 5700 Lawndale, Houston, Texas 77023.
