Katie (Heintze) Webb was born on March 14, 1921 in the Sharp Community in Milam County, Texas to Albert & Mary (Koch) Heintze. She was united in marriage to Dell Edward Webb on December 11, 1945. During WWII, Katie worked for Bemus Bag Company in Houston. After she and Dell were married, they opened Webb Nursery in 1950. They helped to beautify many yards in the Houston area for 30 years. She worked hard her entire life resulting in a successful business and family. Even after selling her business in 1980, Katie still couldn’t take it easy and she went to work for Reidel Nursery for another 10 years. In 1999, she moved to Lincoln to live with her daughter.

Katie’s favorite hobby was fishing and she and Dell went as much as possible. When the nursery was closed on Wednesday’s, she and friends would go out on the party boats out of Galveston. She could clean an ice chest full of fish faster than anyone else. Later in life she enjoyed going to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s ball games, band concerts and whatever else they were involved.

Katie passed away the morning of Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Burleson St. Joseph Manor in Caldwell, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Mary Heintze; her husband, Dell Webb; her grandson, David “Paul” Ward; one brother, Ludy Heintze and four sisters, Edna Gruellich, Ann Anderson, Agusta Prevost and Hattie Eichenhorst.
