Alfredo “Fred” Partida

Funeral services for Alfredo “Fred” Partida, 47 of Pearland, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Giddings with Father James Olnhausen officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and the family will be present for visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Jose Alfredo Partida was born on September 1, 1967 in Monterrey, Mexico to Marcelino & Sara (Tovar) Partida. He graduated from Giddings High School in 1987 and married Rachel Cortez on August 28, 2010 in Pearland, Texas. Fred was a pipefitter with Zachry Inc. He was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Pearland and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed watching football and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. Fred passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 3, 2015 in Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Partida and an infant brother, Casimiro Partida.

Fred is survived by his wife, Rachel Partida of Pearland; his father, Marcelino Partida of Giddings; his brothers and sisters, Jaime Partida of Houston, Idalia Bishop & her husband, Randy of Giddings, Carlos Partida & his wife, Katie of Austin and Camelia Morales & her husband, Antonio of Giddings; four nephews, Toby & Zach Bishop of Giddings and Elliot & Noah Partida of Austin; parents-in-law, Ruben & Janie Alvarez of Houston; sisters-in-law and brothersin law, Lisa & Javier Gonzalez of Houston & their children, Michael, Anthony, Alyssa, Jacob & Noah, April & Jerry Lopez & their children, Victoriana, Jared & Paul, Monica & Eric Hinojosa of Houston & their children, Armando III, Macario, Jaxon & Jessa and Justin & Crystal Alvarez of Houston.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ralph Garcia, Gene Guerrero, Joe Palomares, Nick Ramos, Heron Garza and William Loosemoore. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Guerrero.

Memorials may be made to St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, 526 South Grimes Street, Giddings, Texas 78942.
