Gregory “Greg” Allen Kuhlmann

Gregory Allen Kuhlmann was born on July 6, 1958 in Giddings, Texas to Brice Edward Kuhlmann and Lavine Mary (Jenke) Kuhlmann.

Greg graduated from Bishop High School in 1976 and attended TSTI in Waco. He was united in marriage to Georgia Hewett on July 4, 1997. Greg worked as a mechanic for many years having been employed with Bob Gold Chevrolet and A.J.’s Paint and Body in Giddings and Tegeler Toyota and Appel Ford in Brenham. After moving to San Antonio, he worked for Tandy Leather Factory and at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. Greg was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio where he had helped with the Fall Festival and drive thru nativity scene for several years. He was the type of person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a man who loved his family and was especially proud of his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar & Meta Jenke and Edward & Edna Kuhlmann; his aunts and uncles, Dorothy & Bob Manning, Jack & Elaine Ames, Melba & Buck Irwin, Franklin Jenke and Milburn Jenke and his father-in-law, Thomas Hewett..

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Kuhlmann of San Antonio; his parents, Brice & Lavine Kuhlmann of Giddings; his two children, Sommer Garman & her husband, Chris of San Antonio and Caleb Kuhlmann & his wife, Wendy of Montgomery; his two step-sons, Jonathan Wurdinger & his wife, Eva of San Antonio and Thomas Wurdinger & his wife, Stephanie of Kingsville; eight grandchildren, Jeremiah & Micaiah Kuhlmann of Montgomery, Sherry & Nathan Garman of San Antonio, Nathan & Michelle Wurdinger of San Antonio and Rhys & Conner Wurdinger of Kingsville; his sisters and brother, Deborah Wilson & her husband, Mark of Austin, Steven Kuhlmann of Austin and Leah Wolf & her husband, Frank of La Grange; his uncle and aunts, Eugene & Eleanor Jenke of Lexington and Annie Jenke of Giddings; his nephews and nieces, James Wilson of Austin, Daniel Wilson & his wife, Dallas & their son, Elijah of Austin, Andrew Wilson of Austin, Hannah Wilson of Austin, Trey Wolf of La Grange and Autumn Wolf of La Grange; his mother-in-law, Faye Hewett of Kingsville and his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas Hewett & his wife, Becky of Bishop & their children, Clay & Kaelyn, Roxanne Legan & her husband, James of San Antonio & their children, Christopher & Casey and Valarie Hewett of Kingsville.

Funeral services were for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help the family offset medical and final expenses. Contributions to the Kuhlmann Benefit Fund may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 300 North Grimes Street, Giddings, Texas 78942.
