Andrea Kathleen Wachsmann

Andrea Kathleen (Hooper) Wachsmann, 69, of Giddings, Texas died at home on Wednesday morning, February 11, 2015.

Graveside services were at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Giddings City Cemetery with Rev. Robert Tiner officiating.

Her parents, Claude Hooper and Evelyn (Urban) Hooper, welcomed the birth of Andrea Kathleen on July 12, 1945 in Brenham, Texas. After graduating from Travis High School in Austin, Andrea began working for the Internal Revenue Service, also there in Austin. She later transferred to an accounting position with the Federal Veterans Administration. On June 13, 1981 Andrea and Victor Wachsmann became husband and wife at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim, Texas. She and Victor moved back to Giddings in 1984, where they had made their home since.

Andrea was very athletic, excelling at tennis, a sport in which she represented her team at state competition multiple times. She also enjoyed playing pickleball, gardening, everything outdoors with her husband, Victor, traveling, cooking “with love”, and visiting with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude & Evelyn Hooper, her husband, Victor Wachsmann, and by a brother, Otis Hooper.

Andrea is survived by her sons, Mark Daniel Wachsmann of Katy and Robert Otis Wachsmann and wife, Michelle of Schertz, by her grandchildren, Lauren Wachsmann and Shaun Wachsmann, both of Schertz, by six brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Memorials may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Altar Flower Fund for floral arrangements on March 1, 2015 to honor Victor and Andrea Wachsmann.
