Michael “Mickey” Benfer Baylor

Michael “Mickey” Benfer Baylor was born October 3, 1942 in San Antonio to John William and Yvonne (Nelson) Baylor. He and Carol Ann Sowell were married. Mickey worked as a welder for Childers Manufacturing in Houston. After his retirement, he moved to Tanglewood where he had lived the past 10 years. He was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed sharing his faith. He was a dedicated food pantry worker at Tanglewood Baptist Church.

Mickey was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Benfer on November 1, 1993; his father John Baylor on June 6, 2007; his mother, Yvonne Baylor on November 16, 1995 and two brothers, Christopher and John R. Baylor.

Surviving family are; two sons, Steve Posey of Tanglewood and Thomas W. McNabb of Arkansas; three daughters, Caroline Morgan of San Antonio, Tiffany “Laurel” Holtz and husband William C. of Lexington, Michaelle Woolsey and Melinda Walraven of Austin; a brother, Rev. Timothy Allen Baylor and wife Lori of Port Aransas; a sister, Carol Lischer Luley and husband Pete of Temple, and nine grandchildren.

Michael “Mickey” Benfer Baylor, 72 of Tanglewood passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at his home in Tanglewood. A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 in the Tanglewood Baptist Church with Pastor David Atwood of Tanglewood Baptist Church officiating.
