Lillian Walther

Lillian (Ashorn) Walter was born on January 15, 1921 in Anderson, Texas to Fritz and Emma (Abke) Ashorn. She was united in marriage to Elmo M. Walter on February 9, 1951 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Houston. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2014. She was retired from Spring Branch I.S.D. where she had been employed as a cafeteria worker. Lillian passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz & Emma Ashorn; her husband of 63 years, Elmo Walther; her brother, Irvin Ashorn and her three sisters, Esther Ashorn, Clara Ashorn and Alvina Kettle.

Lillian is survived by her two sons, Kenneth Walther and his wife, Cheryl, and Ray Walther and his wife, Kathleen; grandchildren, Janet and her husband, Kevin Banes, Phillip Walther, Stephen Walther, Aaron Walther and Joshua Walther; great granddaughter, Emma Banes, and a sister-in-law, Irene Wright.

Funeral services for Lillian Walther, 93 of Giddings, were held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery.
