Freddie Walter Hartfiel

April 10, 1920 - Sept. 26, 2014

Freddie Walter Hartfiel born in Lexington, Texas, April 10, 1920, went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2014, at the age of 94 after a gallant struggle with cancer. Freddie was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington. Freddie served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Being fluent in German, he assisted interpreting for the German POWs. He retired from Lone Star Brewery in San Antonio after 32 years. He was preceded in death by wife Gloria Hartfiel, parents Gus and Alma Hartfiel, brothers Arthur and Raymond, sister Edna. Survivors include his brother Carl and his wife Barbara, numerous loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at 12 noon with funeral service at 1:00 pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapel South, San Antonio. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Donations may be made to Love For Paws Rescue, PO Box 826, Spring Branch, TX 78070.
