Opal May Mundine

July 8, 1920 - September 6, 2014

Opal May (Fisher) Mundine was born on July 8, 1920 in Blue, Texas to William Wesley Fisher Sr. & Roxey Lena (Reed) Fisher. She was married to Winfred Mundine and they had two sons, Royce and Joe David. Opal was a loving and devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother, not only to her own family, but to many other children in the community throughout the years. She always had her home open to others. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lexington and cherished the times she was able to spend with her granddaughter and great grandsons. Opal passed away during the early morning hours of Saturday, September 6, 2014 in a Round Rock hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Roxey Fisher; her husband, Winfred Mundine; her two sons, Joe David Mundine and Royce Mundine, and two brothers, Quentin Fisher and Wesley Fisher.

Opal is survived by her granddaughter, Mitzi Cathey & her husband, Douglas of Cedar Park; her two great grandsons, Shane & Ty Cathey of Cedar Park; her daughter-in-law, Judy Mundine of Cedar Park; her sister, Omie Stark of Del Valle; her sister-in-law, Barbara Fisher of Lexington, and her nieces and nephews, Holly Williams, Neal & Ruth Stark and Lynne & Randy Cunningham.

Funeral services for Opal Mundine, 94, of Lexington were Monday, September 8, 2014 at the McDade Cemetery in McDade, Texas with Geary McManus officiating.
