Adeline Louise Schroeder

January 5, 1927 - July 24, 2014

Adeline Louise (Hobratschk) Schroeder was born on January 5, 1927 in Warda, Texas to Alfred John Hobratschk and Emilie Alma Elsa (Wacker) Hobratschk. She was baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. She attended Holy Cross Lutheran School and was confirmed on March 17, 1940 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Adeline was united in marriage to Willie Erich Schroeder on October 10, 1948 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church by Rev. Paul C. Eifert. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Harry and Donald. She was a loving and devoted homemaker who also did housekeeping for other families for many years. She had been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings where she had been active in the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed cooking, baking and canning.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred & Emilie Hobratschk; her step-mother, Minna Hobratschk; her husband of 64 years, Willie Schroeder; her great-grandson, Daeton Lucio and two brothers, Willie Hobratschk and Albert Hobratschk.

She is survived by her two sons, Harry & Connie Schroeder of Bastrop and Donald Schroeder & Pam Manuel of Giddings; twelve grandchildren, Todd Schroeder of Ledbetter, William & Johanna Schroeder of Hempstead, Christine Schroeder & T.K. Vangundy of Dickinson, Jessicaann & Jacob Wells of Cedar Creek, Christopher Schroeder of Bastrop, Jerred Schroeder of Bastrop, Havannah Schroeder of Bastrop, Harlan Schroeder of Bastrop, Chance Schroeder of Bastrop, Cheyenne Schroeder of Bastrop, Brandon Schroeder of Giddings and Victoria Schroeder of Giddings; twelve great grandchildren; three sisters, Annie Mae Kappler of Warda, Carolyn & Clarence Mitschke of Houston and Irene Noack of Giddings; two brothers, Herman & Eunice Hobratschk of Giddings and Norman & Mildred Berger of Giddings; three sisters-in-law, Gertrude Hobratschk of Giddings, Gertrude Hobratschk of Kerrville and Elsie Fischer of Giddings, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner & Rev. Keith Aschenbeck officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Todd Schroeder, William Schroeder, Brandon Schroeder, Jerred Schroeder, Harlan Schroeder and Chance Schroeder. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Hobratschk, Robert Hobratschk, Wayne Kappler, A.C. Hobratschk, Christopher Schroeder, Harvey Fischer and Clarence Schroeder.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Christ Our Cornerstone Fund at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings, or to the Lutheran Hour.
