Joseph David Strom

April 30, 1960 - January 19, 2014

Memorial services for Joseph “Joe” Strom, 53, of Dime Box, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Dime Box Brethren Church with Rev. Jim Heckman officiating.

Joe passed away the afternoon of Sunday, January 20, 2014 at the College Station Medical Center.

Joseph David Strom was born on April 30, 1960 in Joplin, Missouri. While attending high school, he enjoyed playing football. He was united in marriage to Mary “Missy” Dailey on May 2, 1987 in Dime Box, Texas and owned K & C Quick Stop in Dime Box for 16 years. Joe enjoyed socializing with his friends on Envony (where his nickname was Builder), bowling and playing dominoes with his friends at the store.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sallie & Ed Howell; his grandparents, Daniel & Daphane McNeil and his fatherin law, Charles Dailey and his step father-in-law, John Krenek.

Joe is survived by his wife, Mary “Missy” Strom of Dime Box; two children, Kristine Strom of Houston and Casey Strom of Bryan; sister, Lisa Games & her husband, Henry of Las Vegas; mother-in-law, Mary Krenek of Dime Box; brother-in-law, Joe Dailey & his wife, Tracy of St. Charles, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dime Box Brethren Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
