David Alan Lindbergh

February 2, 1943 - January 15, 2014

David Alan Lindbergh was born on February 2, 1943 in Arlington, Illinois to William Robert & Hilda (Frye) Lindbergh. He graduated in 1960 from Calumet High School in Gary, Indiana. David served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He attended the Guided Missile School in Dam Neck, Virginia and was stationed on the USS Howard W. Gilmore in Charleston, South Carolina and the USS Canopus in Rota, Spain. David received his Honorable Discharge in 1973 after obtaining the rank of Master Chief and serving as a Guided Missile School lnstructor in Dam Neck, Virginia. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in January of 2013 after serving as an Electronics Technician in the Austin post office. David was a tinkerer who enjoyed hot rods, sports cars and working with computers.

David was a longtime smoker who passed away the evening of Wednesday, January 15, 2013 due to the consequences of his years of smoking.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arthur Lindbergh.

David is survived by his wife, Regina Lindbergh of Lincoln, Texas and her children, Clarece Romund, Clarance Romund and Gina Laurie Willis; his six children, David Lindbergh Jr. & his wife, Lori of North Carolina, Todd Lindbergh & his wife, Sandy of Virginia, William “Bill” Lindbergh & his wife, Barbara of Lincoln, Texas and Eric Lindbergh & his wife, Amy of Virginia, along with their mother, Tessie Kemplin of Lawrenceville, GA; Chris Lindbergh of Colorado and Patricia Lindbergh of Vidor, Texas, along with their mother, Yvonne Padilla of Port Arthur and her children, Victoria Nielsen, Elizabeth Lees, Lawrence Damers and Kathryn Damers; nine grandchildren and two brothers, James Lindbergh and William Lindbergh & his wife, Rhonda all of California.

Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice
