Lady Eagles Remain Undefeated in District Action

The Lady Eagles defeated Rosebud-Lott, 25-17,25-19, and 25- 10 Tuesday night, to go 4-0 in district play. Lexington had 19 service aces in the match. This was Meghann Wrinkle’s night as she had seven kills, a block, and five aces to go with her five digs of RL hit attempts.

Game 1-With the score 13-9, Wrinkle had a three-point series — a kill, a block of a RL hit, and another kill to open a seven point lead. Mary Beth Ross followed with a kill, putting Lexington up by eight, 17-9. From there the Lady Eagles used one of Wrinkle’s aces, a Kristen Boettcher kill, another kill by Mary Beth Ross, and an ace by Karsen Ross, to close out the first game.

Game 2- This game was played evenly until the score reached 10- 10. Lexington got a point on a net serve, then Krista Lerche launched three straight service aces to open an Eagle lead of 14-10. With the Mean Green ahead 18-14, Mary Beth Ross reeled off three aces to widen the Lexington lead. Wrinkle then ended the game with a kill.

Game 3- This game was somewhat of a blowout. With Lexington up 13-8, a Karsen Ross kill got the roll started. Wrinkle then had three aces in a row, followed by another K. Ross kill. With Wrinkle still serving, RL committed two hitting errors before Wrinkle struck another ace to put Lexington up 21-8. With the score 23-10, K. Ross had a kill, followed by the third kill of game 3 by Kristen Boettcher, to end the game and match.

The Lady Eagle JV won their first match in district action with a 25-21, 25-23 win over the JV Lady Cougars.

The Lady Eagle Freshmen continue to improve, but lost in three games 31-29,. 12-25, and 18- 25.

Stats for the Lady Eagle varsity game are as follows: Wrinkle had seven kills, a block, five aces, and five digs. Karsen Ross had 11assists, three kills, three aces, and six digs. Lerche had six assists, two kills, five aces, and five digs. Mary Beth Ross had four kills, and three aces. Boettcher had five kills, three aces, and three digs. Madison Bexley had seven digs and a kill.
