County Taxes for $100K Home to Increase by 30¢
The Lee County Commissioners approved both the 2013-2014 Budget and the 2013-2014 Tax rate for the County during their Commissioners’ Court meeting held Monday, September 23. Based on these actions, the Tax Rate for the coming year will be $0.6704/$100 valuation, the vast majority of which will be used for maintenance and operations.
This year’s tax rate will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s rate and will effectively be raised by .0005 percent. The net result to the homeowner of a $100,000 valued home will be 30 cents increase in their annual county property taxes.
Judge Fischer complemented and thanked all the county officials for their efforts to hold down expenses in this budget cycle.
Also, as a part of the budgeting process, the Court approved the budgets for the District Court Reporters and the County Auditor for the coming year.
