Lexington and Rogers hooked up in one of the best volleyball matches seen in these parts. Rogers won the first two games 19-25, 22-25, and Lexington countered by taking the next three 25-9,25-17, 15-9 for the win. Madison Bexley and Karsen Ross had outstanding statistical games for Lexington in the thrilling victory.

Game 1- This was a tightly contested game until the score reached 11-12. From that point on, Rogers slowly pulled away, despite four kills by Karsen Ross. Lexington gave away a couple of service errors in the process. After Mikayla Daniels got a kill, to make the score 15-19, Lexington went error prone, to give the game away.

Game 2- This game went Rogers’ way from the start, as they opened a 1-7 lead. Lexington fought, hustled, and hit their way back, to tie the score at 21. A Meghann Wrinkle kill made it 19-20, and then, a Wrinkle block tied the score at 21. Despite some determined volleys by the Lady Eagles, Rogers won the game, putting Lexington down 2-0.

Game 4- Started off much like game 3. Lerche had an ace, Wrinkle a block, and Karsen a block, as Lexington zoomed out to a 12-1 lead. Lexington relaxed a little and here came Rogers. With the score 21-14, Boettcher got a kill, Karsen a kill, and Boettcher had another kill, as Lexington finished out the game to force game 5.

Game 5- This game started off evenly until Lerche started to serve. At 1-2, Lerche had a service ace to tie the game. After a couple of unforced errors by Rogers, another Lerche ace gave Lexington a 5-2 lead. Mary Beth Ross had a block on the next point, to give Lexington a 6-2 lead. Karsen had a kill, to make the score 9-3. Rogers was so frazzled, they had a rotation infraction, putting Lexington up 11-4. Daniels had a kill at 14-6, putting Lexington on the precipice of victory. Wrinkle then killed a shot, to give Lexington a 15-9 game and match win.
