Giddings Library News Corner

By Judy Belyeu

This week I am writing about some of our latest selections that are available in CD also.

Judgement Call by J.A. Jance achieves a new high in crime fiction. Brady wrestles with her conflicting roles of law officer and mother when her daughter discovers the murdered body of the local high school principal. The ensuing investigation reveals secrets no parent wants to hear.

Delusion in Death by J. D. Robb takes place at happy hour in a Manhattan bar and becomes a scene of carnage when a potent hallucinogenic-drug mixture, released into the air, causes everyone inside to attack everyone else. While members of the NYPD unit headed by Lieutenant Eve Dallas soon identify the drugs, they can’t stop another incident later at a nearby cafĂ©.

First Sight by Danielle Steel is about a gifted designer whose talent and drive have brought her everything except the ability to erase her past and trust relationships.

Low Pressure by Sandra Brown is about Bellamy Lyston Price’s obsessive quest to discover the truth behind her sister’s brutal murder, no matter what the cost.

Bones Are Forever by Kathy Reichs is a riveting novel featuring forensic anthropologist Tempe Brennan. This is a story of infanticide, murder, and corruption. It is set in the highstake, high-danger world of diamond mining. A woman calling herself Amy Roberts checks herself into a Montreal hospital complaining of uncontrolled bleeding. Doctors see that there is evidence of a recent birth, but before they can act, Roberts disappears.

We have many other good selections and they are: Potboiler by Jesse Kellerman; Haven by Kay Hooper; Gone by Randy Wayne White; A Killing in the Hills by Julia Keller; Last to Die by Tess Gerritsen: Zoo by James Patterson; and Fool Me Twice by Robert B. Parker.
