Lexington Police Report

September 3, 2013

Chief Yarbrough was dispatched to the 600 Blk of Wells St in reference to a possible Sexual Assault that had taken place. A report was written and the case is under investigation.

Officer Sandoval observed a large tree branch that had fallen partially into the roadway. Officer Sandoval placed reflective cones around the branch until city workers could remove it.

Cpt. Wooldridge assisted the Lee County Sheriff’s Department in attempting to locate a vehicle that struck a mailbox on CR 405, and was possibly heading into Lexington. Deputies located the vehicle out in the county.

September 4, 2013

Chief Yarbrough was dispatched to the 1000 Blk of Harry St in reference to loose livestock. The owner of the animals was located and the animals were placed back into their fenced-in area.

Chief Yarbrough was dispatched to an alarm call in the 200 Blk of Rockdale St. Chief Yarbrough checked the building and found it to be secure. The business owner arrived on the scene and reset the alarm.

Chief Yarbrough removed some debris off the roadway on SHWY 77 N.

September 5, 2013

Chief Yarbrough was asked to make contact with subjects remodeling a house in the 800 block of 7th St. and advise them to check with the city to see if they needed a permit to continue the remodeling.

September 6, 2013

Cpl. Nurse was dispatched to the 8000 Blk of Hwy 77 in reference to a reckless driver who was failing to maintain a single lane. Cpl. Nurse located the vehicle and made contact with the driver, who stated she wasn’t aware that she was failing to stay in her lane while driving. Cpl. Nurse made sure the subject was ok to drive and, after determining she was ok to drive, the subject was released.

Cpl. Nurse was dispatched to the 1800 Blk of Hwy 77 N. in reference to a disturbance. Once on the scene, Cpl. Nurse made contact with the complainant and the other subject involved. After speaking with both subjects, it was found that the disturbance was verbal only. Cpl. Nurse left the scene once he made sure there would be no further problems.

September 7, 2013

Cpl. Nurse assisted TX DPS Trooper Thorp on a funeral escort through the city.

Officer Sandoval was advised by a subject that she was going to have to leave her vehicle parked at the Lexington High School parking lot due to losing her keys. Officer Sandoval checked on the vehicle periodically throughout the night. The vehicle remained secured during the course of Officer Sandoval’s shift.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to Herk’s store in reference to a theft call. Officer Sandoval met with the complainant who stated a subject stole her phone off the store counter and that she knew who the suspect was. Officer Sandoval tracked down the suspect and retrieved the cell phone. This case is currently under investigation.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to an alarm call in the 8800 Blk of N Hwy 77. Officer Sandoval checked the area and found no suspicious activity and the building secured.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to the 700 Blk of 3rd St in reference to two juveniles damaging mailboxes with baseball bats. Officer Sandoval met with the complainant, then checked the area for the two juveniles who had been seen running north bound on Caldwell St. Officer Sandoval was unable to locate the suspects. This case remains under investigation.
