Giddings Library News Corner

Well the time is here. The Giddings Public Library is featuring books from Texas authors who will be featured at the Texas Word Wrangler Book Festival on September 13th from 9:00 A. M. to 5:00 P. M..

No One Else to Kill by Bob Doerr is about Jim West who travels to a small remote hunting place in the Pecos Wilderness area of New Mexico. It grabs you in scene one and doesn’t let go until it has taken you on a roller coaster ride of murder, mystery, and mayhem.

Zyanza Always and Forever by Greta Benavides-Adame is the beginning of a three-book saga that takes place in a central Mexican rainforest.

The Best Season-The First Ninety Games by Bob May is a look at the first ninety games of a simulated baseball season featuring Negro league players versus major league players using a baseball board game.

Seat of Empire by Jeffrey Stuart Kerr is a lively depiction of the founding of Austin as the capital of Texas. Kerr offers colorful accounts of the scenic setting, early settlers, and contentious times.

Hug-A-Bug Travels to Greece by Anna Church and Nicole Taylor is the second book in a series. On this trip he hitches a ride on Loggerhead Turtle, explores Athens and masters Greek phrases.

Little Acorn’s Big Fall by Candilynn Fite introduces Little Acorn as he gets more than he bargains for when he makes a big leap on the forest floor away from his dad’s protective arm.
