Lexington Police Report

August 14, 2013

Officer Sandoval, while on patrol, observed two subjects that were suspects in a theft by check at Peterson’s Grocery store. Officer Sandoval made contact with the subjects, and during this time, Officer Sandoval smelled the odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officer Sandoval searched the vehicle and found prescription medication that was not prescribed for the bottle it was located in. Officer Sandoval seized the dangerous drugs and this case is currently under investigation.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to a burglar alarm at the Round Top Bank. Upon arrival, Officer Sandoval checked all exterior doors and windows, finding the building secure.

August 15, 2013

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to the Lexington Food Mart in reference to a motion alarm call in the cashiers’ area. The store was closed at that time. Officer Sandoval arrived and checked the outside perimeter, all doors and windows, and did not notice anything suspicious inside. Officer Sandoval found the building secure.

Officer Sandoval attempted to serve a warrant for a subject in the 300 blk of 1st St. No contact was made with the wanted subject.

August 16, 2013

Cpl. Nurse was dispatched to the 9100 Blk of Hwy 77 in reference to a theft. Information was gathered and this case is currently under investigation.

Cpl. Nurse was dispatched to the 1200 Blk of Rockdale in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Cpl. Nurse checked the area, but was unable to locate the vehicle.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to the 300 Blk of 7th St. in reference to a theft of an air conditioning unit. Officer Sandoval arrived, and during his investigation, possible suspects were located. The case is still under investigation.

Chief Yarbrough and Cpl. Nurse assisted DPS Trooper Weiser, Lee County Sheriff Rodney Meyer and Lee County deputies with a fatality accident located approximately 2 miles south of SHWY 21. Assistance was provided and the accident was being investigated by DPS Trooper Weiser. One subject died as a result of the accident. One subject was taken by Star-Flight from the scene and two juvenile subjects were treated and released at the scene.

August 17, 2013

Cpl. Nurse was contacted by a male subject who stated that his son hadn’t come home the night before. Cpl. Nurse, along with the subject, located the juvenile at a residence in the 200 Blk of Rockdale St. The child was returned to his parent.

August 18, 2013

Cpt. Wooldridge was contacted by phone to check on an elderly female in the 800 Blk of 10th St. The complainant stated there hadn’t been any contact from the subject in a few months. A welfare check was requested. Contact was made with the subject, who was fine.

Cpt. Wooldridge was called to conduct a welfare check on an elderly man in the area of 4th and Yegua St. Cpt. Wooldridge located the subject in his residence, who was fine with no need for concern or additional assistance.
