Judge Campbell Sentences Four
The Honorable Judge Carson Campbell sentenced four people in the 21st Judicial District Court of Lee County last Thursday, August 15. A Lexington man and three men from Giddings were all given probation for their respective crimes.
Daniel Gomez-Lara, 28 of Lexington, was given five years probation and fined $2,000 for driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15. He was ordered to pay an additional $513 in court costs and had his driver’s license suspended for one year. He must enter and successfully complete a substance abuse felony punishment facility, a victim impact panel and a DWI intervention program. An Ignition Interlock system must be installed on all vehicles he drives.
Jose Alberto Cisneros, 31 of Giddings, was given seven years probation for aggravated robbery. He was ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and $423 in court costs. Judge Campbell ordered him to perform 400 hours of community service restitution and to get substance abuse treatment and counseling.
Roy Cruz Castillo, 25 of Giddings, was given five years probation for assault on a public servant. He was ordered to spend 20 days confinement in the Lee County Law Enforcement Center and to pay a $1,500 fine, along with $400 for his court appointed attorney and $338 in court costs. He must receive intensive outpatient alcohol treatment, additional substance abuse treatment through the US Department of Veterans Affairs, and perform 150 hours of community service restitution.
Gary Clayton Hollon, 29 of Giddings, was given two years probation for deadly conduct. He was ordered to pay a $1,500 fine and $277 in court costs. Hollon was also ordered to perform 150 hours of community service restitution.
