Superintendent’s Corner

Frances M. McArthur, PhD., Superintendent of Schools, Lexington ISD

Only three and a half weeks left until our students arrive back for the 2013-2014 school year. I am so excited about seeing the faces of our children and our empty corridors replaced by the activity and excitement of a new academic year.

A few changes will be made to the bus schedules for the upcoming school year. Lexington Middle School and Lexington High School will be starting school at the same time as Lexington Elementary School this fall, which is at 8:00 a.m.

Buses will be picking up students 10-15 minutes later than last year. Buses 3, 7, 9, and 10 will be picking students up 15 minutes later than last school year, and buses 4,5, 6, and 8 will be picking students up 10 minutes later than last school year. Afternoon bus schedules will remain the same.

Our middle school and high school principals will be sending post cards reminding parents of the new times in early August, and we will make information on the new bell and bus schedules available on line, as well.

Thank you for your patience as we make this transition.
