Just a Thought.......

Rev. DaveFischer

Having some health problems? Well, let me share the latest news with you. According to Professor T. M. Luhrman, who has studied the topic extensively, you need to be in church. Here’s what her research shows: People who regularly attend worship get these health benefits:

Lower blood pressure
Increase resistance of the immune system
Less loneliness
And fewer psychiatric symptoms

I could add that they also get to go to heaven, but these words are about the here and now, physical benefits, of attending church each week.

It all makes sense if you reverse it.

“I don’t go to church because I am mad at someone.”

So, increased loneliness and higher blood pressure.

“I don’t go to church because I don’t feel well and am often sick.”

Clearly, your immune system is not up to par.

“I don’t go to church because my kids, wife, husband, somebody is driving me crazy.”

Sounds like you could use the fewer psychiatric benefits clause of good worship attendance.

We all have problems, but we don’t always pay attention to the solutions. The facts above clearly show health benefits available to all who will claim them.

It’s just a thought, but it might save your life.
