The 8 and under team from Lexington, the Reckin Crew, placed third in State in their division. The State tourney was held in Denison. The young ladies defeated Crockett Xtreme Heat 19-2 to open the tourney. They defeated Jarrell Sassy Sox 15-0 in the second game. Then Lexington encountered the eventual winner, West Rampage, in game three. The loss put the Reckin Crew into the loser’s bracket. They defeated host Denison Wild Ones and Jarrell, again, to reach the third place game. Lexington lost to Axtell Pink Ladies in the third place game and West polished off Axtell to win the tourney. Chandler Evans, Kirk Muhl, Travis Hobbs, and Crystal Foley coached the outstanding group of young ladies.
The 10 and under team, Lexington Lightening, played in the State tourney held in Rockdale this past weekend. The Lightening defeated Hillsboro Zebra Warriors in a rain delayed game to open the tourney. The Lightening struck the Thorndale Thunder in game two. The Belton Piranhas dealt Lexington a loss in the third round, putting them in the elimination bracket. The Canton Crush then finished the season for Lexington, defeating them in the elimination game.
The 15 and under Lexington Eagles team played in the tourney held in Belton. The young ladies fell into a little bad luck, losing to BMC Havoc in game one and then losing to Crockett in game two to end the season. Several of these young ladies will be on the field for Lexington softball come springtime.
