Superintendent’s Corner

Frances M. McArthur, PhD., Superintendent of Schools, Lexington ISD

With only four weeks left until school starts, I want to encourage our parents to make sure your child is current on his or her immunizations.

This is critically important to be taken care of during the summer months because state law requires that all students be immunized prior to attending school the first day. If the cost of the immunizations is an issue for you, there are numerous affordable alternatives available to families in need.

Please visit with your family doctor’s office or contact the Lee County or Bastrop County Health Departments to learn about upcoming free immunization clinics. Thank you for all you do to support our schools and I hope you enjoy your last four weeks of summertime, learning through daily reading and family time.
