July 15, 2013

Deputy Ledenbach was dispatched to CR 133 after a motorist reported several cows out on the roadway.

A citizen reported a man walking down Hwy 77 near CR 217. The caller stated that he was walking with a bad limp and requested a welfare check on him. Captain Crockett located the subject and gave him a courtesy ride.

A motorist reported a silver car was driving all over the roadway on Hwy 77 just south of Lexington. Deputy Ray searched the area.

A caller reported that a white car was disabled on the side of Hwy 290 West near the rodeo arena. Deputy Ledenbach located the vehicle and spoke to the driver. He had a flat tire and help was on the way.

Captain Crockett and Sgt Allen responded to CR 114 after a motorist reported approx 20 head of cattle out on the roadway.

Buccees reported that a gold Nissan drove off without paying for gas. The vehicle headed down CR 133 and she advised that a deputy was behind the vehicle. Sgt Allen called in that he was out with the vehicle at 2051 CR 133. Giddings Police took over custody of two subjects.

A resident on CR 217 called and reported that her son was causing problems with her and her husband and she did not want him there. Deputy Jirasek responded to the call.

July 16, 2013

A caller reported a black cow out on CR 133 approx 1 mile off Hwy 290. Deputy Ayres located the cow and ran it back into a pasture.

Deputy Jirasek and Deputy Ayres were dispatched to a residence on County Line Road regarding a suicide attempt. The caller reported that his daughter took some pills in an attempt to kill herself and he choked her to try to get the pills out of her mouth, at which time she did spit the pills out. MHMR was called to the scene and evaluated the daughter and did not see a reason to have her committed.

July 17, 2013

A motorist reported that a horse appeared to be caught up in some PVC pipe fencing on FM 141 @ Hwy 21. Deputy Liles checked the area and advised the horse must have gotten out of the fence.

Deputy Ledenbach was dispatched to FM 1624 @ Hwy 77 to remove a calf from the roadway.

July 18, 2013

The Sheriff’s Office received a burglar alarm at a business in Dime Box. Sgt Carvin checked the building and everything appeared to be secure.

Deputy Liles spoke to a complainant on CR 305. The subject reported that some items were stolen off his property. A report was taken and investigation continues at this time.

Sgt Carvin was asked to assist another agency with a death notification on FM 141. The message was delivered.

A resident reported that someone was burning on CR 401 approx ¾ mile off Hwy 21. Deputy Liles and Dime Box Fire Dept were dispatched. The fire was put out and a warning was issued for burn ban violation.

Deputy Grover was dispatched to a house on FM 141 regarding a family assault. A caller reported that his girlfriend punched him in his face and had left with her brother. A report was taken and charges were filed.

July 19, 2013

A complainant reported that he got into an argument with his wife and she left with their kids. He requested to speak to a deputy. Sgt Allen spoke to him and everything was ok.

Several motorists reported approx 12 head of cattle out on CR 114 @ Silver Spur Ranch. The owner was notified and he was on his way from Houston to check his fence.

A complainant reported that he returned home and found a large white Lincoln car in their drive way. The license plate was given to Deputy Ayres. The area was searched, but the vehicle had left the area. Investigation continues on this case.

July 20, 2013

A motorist reported a small truck was traveling east bound on FM 696 and it did not have any tail lights. Deputy Ayres located the vehicle, but it had already pulled into a driveway.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a man advising that he was assaulted by his grandson. He reported that his grandson pushed him down and jumped on top of him. Deputy Ray and Deputy Ledenbach responded to the call on CR 330 in Lexington. A report was taken for assault family violence.

Fayette County reported approx 15 cows out on Hwy 290 East. Deputy Ray checked to the county line and advised there were no cows out.

A caller reported that his son called him and told him that he hit a man that was walking down the road on Hwy 290 West. Deputy Ayres went to the scene and subject was transported to a hospital.

Deputy Jirasek and Deputy Ayres responded to a domestic disturbance on CR 441 in Dime Box. A report was taken and parties were separated for the night.

July 21, 2013

Deputy Ledenbach was dispatched to a residential alarm in Lexington. The alarm company called back to cancel.

A motorist reported that two 18- wheelers were attempting to pull another 18-wheeler out of the ditch on Hwy 77 just north of the high school. Deputy Ray and Deputy Ledenbach blocked traffic so they could clear the roadway.

Sgt Allen and Deputy Ray assisted at the scene of a 2-vehicle accident on Hwy 21 near FM 1624.

A caller reported that lightning hit an oil well and it started a huge fire on CR 204. Sgt Allen and Deputy Ray responded with Giddings Fire Dept.
