Pictured above are retired Lexington Police Officer, Ken Johnson, and his son, William Johnson, standing beside a replica of a 637 Sturgeon Class submarine identical to the one Ken was on while serving in the US Navy from 1981 to 1984. The model was built for the Central Texas Base of the United States Submarine Veterans, Inc., a national submarine veterans group whose members have special class qualifications and have “earned their dolphins.” Ken and William towed the replica in the Frontier Days Parade in Round Rock on the Fourth of July.
