Just a Thought.......

“It’s Summertime, and the living is easy, Fish are jumping, and the cotton is high”

Rev. DaveFischer Rev. DaveFischer Sam Cooke’s famous words provide us an excellent introduction for a few words about the season upon us.

It’s summertime – that season so eagerly anticipated just after: “school is out, school is out, everybody’s gonna have some fun, ‘cause school is out at last!” (Gary Bonds).

Fun and summertime go together. Most folks know this and it is held in memory with stories that often begin, “I remember the summer that . . .”

So, what are you going to do to make a memory this summer for you and, if you have them, your children?

You understand, there is an essay coming, in just a few months. Its title is “What I Did with My Summer”.

Wouldn’t it be great if this time your child did not have to make something up as a cover for the same old thing? Wouldn’t it be great if you changed the routine so that next time the stories begin, you can chime in on that chorus line, “I remember the summer . . . “

It’s just a thought, but I shared it early, before the summer slips away.
