2008 THSCA All-Stars
Andrew Wolridge was Lexington’s next representative in a THSCA football game. Andrew was selected following the 2007 season as a fullback, linebacker for the south team. Unlike many of the others previously mentioned, none of Andrew’s fellow selectees are household names. The closest would be Luke Poehlmann of Brenham, who played at UT. Even there he was not a starter; he was a hybrid offensive lineman that played tackle or tight end, depending on the situation. The rest of Andrew’s peers went off to college with only mediocre results.
This all proves a point: you don’t have to be a star to be a good football player. Just being a part of a winning team, like Wolridge’s peers did, is what team sports is all about. These 66 young men have graduated like Wolridge, or will graduate soon, and go professional in something other than sports.
