Just a Thought.......

Rev. DaveFischer Rev. DaveFischer It was Peter Marshall, former Chaplain of the United States Senate, who had it right. He said, “Freedom is not the right to do as you please, but the opportunity to please do what is right.”

How I wish that all Americans would read his words and follow them.

We have had a multitude of brave military men and women who have given their lives for our freedom. They did not do so in order that we might abuse that freedom by doing things which are destructive to ourselves and others. They served, and died, so that we might be free to continue the positive activities which made this nation what it is and which are the only actions which will keep it the great and brave nation we know and love.

On this important holiday, it is imperative that each of us thank those who have given so much for our freedom and that we then resolve that, as Lincoln said, “these dead shall not have died in vain”.
