New Media Center and Library for Lexington Middle School
The west end of the Lexington Middle School, located on Third Street, has been undergoing renovation recently and Superintendent Dr. Frances McArthur explained, “We are renovating the old home economics classroom and the old elementary school library into a state of the art media center and library, which will be used primarily by our Middle School students.”
The District has been having the building completely gutted and converted in order to make the facility accommodate technology resources that the students have not had available up until now.
“Our students will be able to do research, using computers, Ipads, Iphones, and other means of technology that will assist them in many ways. This media center will include a lot of interactive teaching and will help put 21st Century skills at the fingertips of our students,” McArthur said.
The new 3400 square foot library is expected to be completed before school starts in the fall.
