Lexington Police Report

June 8, 2013

Officer Vivas was advised by a complainant of a subject sitting in a truck drinking beer in the 8600 block of Hwy 77. Officer Vivas drove to the area and looked for the vehicle, but was unable to locate it.

June 9, 2013

Cpt. Wooldridge was called by a complainant to the 700 block of Ave A in reference to a verbal disturbance. The complainant wanted the other party involved to leave the residence. After speaking with the other party, he agreed to leave and let the situation calm down.

Officer Vivas was dispatched to the 800 blk of Rockdale in reference to barking dogs. Officer Vivas knocked on the door of the dog owners. The owners were not at home, but contact will be made with the owners at a later time.

Officer Vivas was dispatched to assist the Lee County Sheriff’s Department with a possible fire on CR 405. Officer Vivas met with the property owner who was conducting a control burn and was attending the fire.

Officer Vivas was dispatched to a Burglar Alarm at the Lexington Food Mart. He checked all doors and found the building secure.

June 11, 2013

Cpl. Nurse met with a subject at the Lexington Police Department who wanted to return a cellphone to her ex-roommate. Due to prior problems between the subject and her ex-roommate, Officer Nurse received the phone which was eventually returned to its owner.

Cpl. Nurse was dispatched to the 600 blk of Yegua St in reference to a juvenile threatening suicide. Officer Nurse made contact with the juvenile and, after investigating the call, it was determined the juvenile did not want to harm herself. The juvenile was upset with her mother. The mother transported the juvenile to a friend’s house, out of town.

June 13, 2013

Cpl. Nurse was dispatched to a Burglary of a Habitation in the 700 blk of 5th St. Officer Nurse conducted a field investigation where it was found that no burglary had occurred and the home owner had removed the items.

Cpl. Nurse was dispatched to the Colbywood Apartments on a medical assist call in which an elderly female had fallen. Cpl. Nurse assisted E.M.S with helping pick up and place the female on her bed. The elderly female was not injured.

Cpt. Wooldridge worked a two vehicle collision that occurred in the 500 blk of 5th St. where a small pickup truck struck a LAI garbage truck.

Cpt. Wooldridge took a report of a theft of bicycle that had occurred in the 500 blk of Burns St.

Officer Sandoval assisted the Lee County Sheriff’s Department with a disturbance call on CR 308. Upon arrival, Officer Sandoval contacted the complainant, who had been in an argument with his wife, and who was trying to leave the residence. After an investigation, it was determined that no physical disturbance had occurred, and the complainant left the residence.

June 14, 2013

Officer Sandoval was advised by a subject of an abandoned vehicle on 696 East at CR 407, which has been there for over a week. Officer Sandoval located the vehicle and forwarded all information to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, who stated the vehicle would be tagged and towed in 24 hours if it was not picked up before then.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to an alarm call at the Country Salon. Upon arrival, Officer Sandoval checked the building, but found nothing suspicious and the building secure. Officer Sandoval notified dispatch, then cleared the scene.

Cpl. Nurse was dispatched to the Lexington Animal Clinic in reference to a theft of service call, in which a subject did not pay for services rendered. After speaking with the complainant, Cpl. Nurse took a report of Theft of Service. This case is under investigation.

Cpl. Nurse was dispatched to Hwy 77 and CR 410 in reference to a child locked in a car. Cpl. Nurse unlocked the door and the child was unhurt.

June 16, 2013

Officer Vivas was dispatched to the Lexington City Park in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, Officer Vivas made contact with a female subject. After speaking with the parties involved, it was found no physical assault took place. Officer Vivas cleared the scene.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to 8944 Hwy 77 (Cefco) in reference to a gas drive off. After an investigation, the identification of the subject was found, and she was contacted by Officer Sandoval. It was found the female subject was not at fault; the clerk didn’t charge the subject’s card for the gas. The female subject went back and paid for the gas.

Officer Sandoval stopped a vehicle for a defective brake light in the 700 block of 7th St. after making contact with the driver, and running a check on him, it was found that the driver, Danny Earl Mitchell, was operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended with a prior conviction. Mitchell was placed under arrest for Driving while License Suspended (Prior Conviction).

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to the 600 blk of Yegua in reference to a suspicious person knocking on a door. Officer Sandoval arrived and made contact with the complainant who stated someone knocked on her door and when she looked out no one was there so she called the police. Relatives arrived to stay with the complainant. Officer Sandoval checked the area but was unable to locate anyone.

Officer Sandoval, while on routine patrol, observed a vehicle in the 800 block of Caldwell St parked in the middle of the road without its lights on. Officer Sandoval made contact with the occupants of the vehicle. After an investigation, two subjects, were issued citations for Minor in Possession of alcohol and one subject, was placed under arrest for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.
