County to Replace Outdated Software

Lee County Commissioners have been forced to replace the tax collection software for the County’s Tax Office, which they have used for years. The county learned recently that the vendor will no longer offer support for the system, not to mention that it is completely outdated.

The County recently put out requests for bids to replace the system, and received three bids. On Monday, June 10, the Commissioners opened the bids and a committee was assigned the task of reviewing and evaluating the bids in order to make a recommendation to the Commissioners for a new updated system that would offer the best value for the county.

The committee’s recommendation will be made at the next Commissioners’ Court meeting and the method of payment for the system will be considered as well.

The subject of a Burn Ban was not on the meeting’s agenda, but with the fire danger index now at 520 for Lee County, if there is little or no rain, this topic will be brought up soon.
