The Giddings Public Library continues to offer our large print editions. These books provide a variety of good reading.
Big Sky Country by Linda Lael Miller is about the illegitimate son of a wealthy rancher. Sheriff Slade Barlow grew up in a trailer hitched to the Curly-Burley hair salon his mother runs. He was never acknowledged by his father, that is, until he inherited half of Whisper Creek Ranch, one of the most prosperous in Parable, Montana.
Little Night by Luanne Rice takes us into the life of Clare Burk. Her life took a devastating turn when she tried to protect her sister, Anne, from an abusive and controlling husband, and ended up serving prison time for assault.
Letter From a Stranger (in CD also) by Barbara Taylor Bradford is about Justine Nolan. She is a documentary filmmaker who lost her grandmother who was the only person who had ever been a source of love and comfort in her life a decade ago. Justine’s mother, Deborah, had always been distant and uninvolved, following her own agenda in pursuit of her career as an interior designer.
XO (in CD also) by Jeffery Deaver introduces us to countrypop ingénue Kayleigh Towne. Her career is just reaching new heights with her hit single “Your Shadow.” Her increased fame brings in the unwanted attention with one of her fans signed “XO.”
