Lexington Police Report

May 19, 2013

Cpt. Wooldridge took an assault report from the Lexington High School involving one juvenile assaulting two other juveniles during school hours. An investigation is still pending with a possible arrest being made at a later date.

May 21, 2013

Cpl. Nurse responded to the 8900 block of Hwy 77 N on a suspicious person wandering around in the complainant’s back yard. Upon arrival, Cpl. Nurse attempted to locate the subject based on the description provided, but was unable to. It was later discovered that the subject left the area in a black 4 door vehicle traveling northbound on Hwy 77. Cpl. Nurse cleared the area and was unable to locate the vehicle.

Chief Yarbrough and Cpl. Nurse were dispatched to the Herk’s Store in reference to an intoxicated driver. Upon arrival, contact was made with the owner who advised there was no one fitting that description on the premises. Chief Yarbrough and Cpl. Nurse cleared the area unable to locate the possible intoxicated subject.

Chief Yarbrough and Cpl. Nurse were dispatched to assist Deputy Ayers on a Deadly Conduct call on CR 411. Upon arrival, contact was made with all parties involved and Deputy Ayers took control of the scene. The subjects were complaining of an individual pulling a weapon on them when attempting to enter their property via the easement. Chief Yarbrough and Cpl. Nurse cleared the area, leaving the scene in control of Deputy Ayers and other responding Deputies.

Cpl. Nurse was dispatched in the 9000 Blk of Hwy 77 N to perform a lift assist of a subject who had fallen and was unable to get up. Cpl. Nurse assisted the individual to their feet and back into their bed where they were safe. The individual did not sustain any injuries during the fall and Cpl. Nurse cleared the scene.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to a possible intoxicated driver in the 600 block of Main St. Officer Sandoval made contact with the vehicle on Yegua St. where a traffic stop was conducted. Officer Sandoval made contact with the driver and determined the driver was underage and without a driver’s license. It was discovered the parent allowed the juvenile to drive the vehicle home after completing yard work. Appropriate actions were taken, and the juvenile was released at the scene.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to assist the Lee County Sheriff’s Officer in an attempt to locate a possible intoxicated driver on FM 696 West. Officer Sandoval staged at the intersection of FM 696 West and FM 112 in an attempt to locate the vehicle. The vehicle never arrived and was not located.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to the CEFCO Store to take a harassment report from an employee. The report was taken and an investigation is being conducted at this time.

May 23, 2013

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to assist Lee County Sheriff’s Deputies Ayers and Ledenbach in a search for an individual in a vehicle who was involved in pointing a weapon at their neighbor in the area of CR 320. After a thorough canvass of the area, Deputy Carvin made contact with the complainants, who no longer wished to pursue further actions.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to the 800 block of Rockdale St. in reference to dogs at large. Upon arrival, contact was made with the owners of the dogs and citations for dogs at large were issued to Robert Whitbey and Torin Lierin.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to the 600 block of Wells on a Burglary of Habitation. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who advised someone had entered their residence without their permission and punched holes in their wall. There are current leads on the possible suspect at this time. An investigation has been initiated.

May 24, 2013

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to a loose livestock call on the 123 Loop and Hwy 77. The livestock was located and the owner contacted. The owner was assisted by Officer Sandoval with corralling the livestock and placing it back on its property. Actions were taken in an attempt to prevent this from occurring again.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to Ave G and Douglas St. referencing someone breaking beer bottles on the roadway. Officer Sandoval arrived and made contact with the complainant. After an investigation, the bottles were swept from the roadway to prevent injury or damage to vehicles traveling that road. The person responsible for breaking the bottles was unable to be located.

Chief Yarbrough was dispatched to the Herk’s Store for a suspicious person. Upon arrival, contact was made with the subject. The subject was identified as Derrek Lee Sims. Mr. Sims was interviewed and searched for Officer Safety. On Mr. Sims’ person was a quantity of powder Cocaine and numerous pills of illegal prescription medication. Mr. Sims was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance (Cocaine) SJF, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Vicodine) F-2, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Xanax) SJF. Mr. Sims was transported to the Lee County Jail and booked in on three felony drug charges.

Officer Sandoval was dispatched to in the area of the 700 block of Giddings St. in reference to a possible violation of a Criminal Trespass Warning. Upon arrival, there was no violation which had occurred due to no warning being issued. Officer Sandoval cleared the area without incident and resumed his patrol duties.
