Giddings Man Gets 18 Years
Erik Deshaun Shepparrd, 32 of Giddings, was sentenced to two consecutive 18 year terms in jail last Thursday in the 21st District Court of Lee County, with the Honorable Judge Reva Towslee- Corbett presiding.
One of Shepparrd’s sentences was for assault on a public servant (enhanced) and the other was for family violence (enhanced). In addition to jail time in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, he was ordered to pay a total of $667 in court costs.
Christian McKinner Dixon, 27 of Giddings, was also sentenced last week. He was given 180 days confinement in the Lee County Law Enforcement Center for unlawfully carrying a weapon. Dixon was sentenced for a second charge: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – threat. For that charge, Dixon was given six years probation. For both sentences, he was ordered to pay a total of $2,515 in court costs, fines, and fees.
Frank Haskell Eller, 34 of Lufkin, was given two years probation for theft, less than $1,500 with two or more prior convictions. He was ordered to pay a total of $2,238 in fines, fees, and court costs.
Earnest Lee Morris, 55 of Austin, was also given two years probation. He was convicted of theft -$1,500 to $20,000. He was ordered to pay a total of $1,988 in fines, fees and court costs.
