Cheyenne Shed Brings Home the Gold from State
Cheyenne Shed a freshman at Dime Box High School became the State 1A, Division 2 State Champion in the 800 meter run last Friday at Memorial Stadium in Austin with a time of 2:23, setting the record for 1A Division 2. She came in second place in the 1600 meter run with a personal best time of 5:38. According to her coach, Zach Zgabay, “Words cannot describe the incredible work that Cheyenne has put in this year, from going to state in Cross Country to qualifying for the state track meet. Oh and did I mention she is only a FRESHMAN!”
According to Coach Zgabay, “Cheyenne is a model student, admired by her peers and adults alike. She is an extraordinary mentor to the younger children, not only as an athlete with a high academic standing, but a strong role model as well.”
