Just a Thought.......
It was a difficult one because we were struggling with the issue of how to help people, especially those who seem to take advantage of the situation.
Suddenly, one of the group said, “Sometimes you don’t have a choice!”
Immediately others wanted to argue the point. But, he stuck to his guns.
“Sometimes you don’t have a choice. You have to do the right thing, even if it’s difficult, even when the result you want does not seem to be occurring,”
His words echoed in my mind for many days. And, they helped. I had been looking for an excuse to quit. He reminded me that you can never quit when you know what you are doing is the right thing to do.
His words moved me to look beyond my discomfort and see the pain and the struggle of the one who was resisting my best efforts. My difficulties became less important than the need of the one I was helping.
Sometimes you don’t have a choice and that is a good thing. It means that the hope inside of you still lives.
