Sheriff’s Report

April 22, 2013

A caller reported to Deputy Carvin that her sister was in an abusive relationship and needed help. She was able to gather most of her belongings and a relative picked her up. A report was taken.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a bus driver who reported cows out on CR 133 near CR 118. Sheriff Meyer checked the area and advised that the owner was on site putting his cows up.

Deputy Ayres was dispatched to FM 112 approx 3 miles out of Lexington to look for a truck pulling a trailer that was broken down and partially in the roadway. The roadway was clear upon his arrival.

April 23, 2013

A caller reported that a subject was walking around a business on FM 180 wearing reflective clothing. Deputy Ray checked the area, but was unable to locate anyone. He reported that the caller shot in the air to scare them off.

Several motorists reported two horses ran across Hwy 21 near CR 114. Deputy Jirasek advised that the horses were back where they belonged and he contacted the owner.

Deputy Ayres responded to a business alarm on Hwy 290. The property was searched and found secure. An employee reset their alarm.

A caller requested a civil stand by at a residence on FM 696 in Lexington. She reported that her husband assaulted her last week but she did not report it. She left the residence without her belongings. Today she wanted to get her property. Deputy Allen and Deputy Ayres stood by while she gathered her items.

April 24, 2013

Deputy Ray responded to a call on CR 415 W in Tanglewood. A man got his leg caught in an auger. B&M Ambulance transported him to a hospital.

Adult Protective Services called and requested an escort to a residence on CR 419. Deputy Crockett and Deputy Jirasek assisted.

A resident on FM 180 reported that a white or silver 4 door car was driving up and down the road. Deputy Jirasek searched the area but did not locate any vehicle matching the description. He patrolled the area for a while.

April 25, 2013

Deputy Rudolph received a report of animal cruelty on CR 235. A caller reported that a dog was chained up without food or water. The dog owner was contacted and everything checked out ok.

A complainant reported that someone stole some items out of his horse trailer. Deputy Crockett and Deputy Burns responded to the call. A report for theft was taken. Investigation continues on this case at this time.

Deputy Crockett and Deputy Burns spoke to a complainant on CR 404 in Dime Box. He reported that someone tried to break into his place. A report was taken and deputies will be patrolling the area on all shifts.

Giddings Police Dept. requested assistance at Town & Country Mobile Home Park because they wanted to serve a warrant. Deputy Carvin assisted and arrested the subject and transported him to Lee County Jail for booking.

April 26, 2013

Deputy Jirasek was dispatched to South Forty RV Park to take a report. The complainant reported an unknown person wrote on the bathroom wall. A report was made for criminal mischief.

A motorist reported that her vehicle broke down and she was on the side of the road waiting for her family to arrive, but was afraid to be by herself. Deputy Allen gave the lady a courtesy ride to Bucees in Giddings.

April 27, 2013

Deputy Jirasek spoke to a complainant that was in the lobby. He advised that his sister threatened him regarding some money she believes he took from her. A report was taken.

A motorist reported that a juvenile boy was walking down Hwy 290 towards town. Deputy Ayres located the subject who advised he was on his way to Brookshire Brothers to talk to his mom. He was given a courtesy transport and released to his mother.

A complainant reported that his boss was threatening to assault him because he thinks he took his 4-wheeler. Subject stated that he did not take anything and wanted to speak to an officer. Deputy Allen and Deputy Ayres spoke to all parties involved and the situation was handled for now.

The Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from a motorist needing a wrecker on Hwy 290 West because their car broke down. A wrecker was dispatched and Deputy Allen gave the family a courtesy ride to town.

April 28, 2013

A caller reported that a brown Cadillac hit their vehicle and continued driving South on FM 141. Deputy Ayres assisted Trooper Thorp.

Deputy Ray responded to a residential alarm on CR 117. All doors and windows were found secure.
