Amanda Emilie Faske
Funeral services for Amanda Faske, 93 of Giddings, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
Mrs. Faske passed away during the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Oakland Manor Nursing Center in Giddings.
Amanda Emilie (Fritsche) Faske was born on July 30, 1919 in Loebau, Texas to Ernest & Emma (Zoch) Fritsche. She was baptized on August 10, 1919 and confirmed on April 9, 1933 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas by Rev. Reinhard Osthoff. Amanda was united in marriage to Erich W. Faske on November 7, 1943 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln by Rev. Reinhard Osthoff. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Martha, Delbert, Marvin, Ellis and Erich Jr. Amanda & Erich were married for 57 years when he preceded her in death on February 27, 2001. She was a loving and devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, gardening and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erich Faske; her son, Erich Faske Jr.; two sisters, Ella Schneider and Mary Simmons and four brothers, Arthur Fritsche, Albert Fritsche, Richard Fritsche and Melvin Fritsche.
Amanda is survived by her daughter, Martha Ceres of Houston; three sons, Delbert Faske & his wife, Sharon of Lexington, Marvin Faske of Fedor and Ellis Faske & his wife, Shirley of Kingsland; four grandchildren, Shannon Ceres & his wife, Dina of Katy, Brent Faske of Cedar Park, John Faske & his wife, Christy of Cibolo and Mandi Picken & her husbnd, Martin of Woking, England; six great grandchildren, Dylan Ceres & Bailey Ceres both of Katy, Carter Faske of Cedar Park, Taylor Faske of Cibolo and Alex Picken and Isabel Picken both of Woking, England; sister-in-law, Gertrude Fritsche of Houston, as well as numeorus nieces and nephews.
