Lexington’s 48th Annual Homecoming

The 48th Annual Lexington Homecoming Cook-Off will be held on May 3-4, 2013. The Lee County Go Texan BBQ competition will again be held in conjunction with the Homecoming Cook-Off.

The Lee County Texas Stars 4-H has teamed up with Diamond Cross Rodeo Company to bring an exciting CPRA rodeo to the Lexington Homecoming event lineup this year. The non-stop action will include bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc riding, steer dogging, calf roping, team roping, tiedown roping, women’s breakaway roping, barrel racing and mutton bustin. This fun filled rodeo features 2 performances: Friday, May 3rd, and Saturday, May 4th. Both start at 7:30pm and will run about 2 hours. Slack runs on Thursday, May 2nd starting at 7:30pm.

Street dances will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights on the Square, featuring some excellent musicians. Check the schedule on page C1 of today’s paper for the times and the bands that will be playing.

There will also be a Washer Tournament on Saturday, along with a Horseshoe Tournament, beginning at 1 p.m.

The Square will feature plenty of activities for children and lots of food for everyone. Vendors will line the east and south sides of the Square, selling everything from jewelry to clothing to plants and more.

As usual, this year’s event promises to keep everyone entertained, while offering many wonderful opportunities to just sit and visit a while.

Come to Homecoming! You’ll be glad you did!
