Ray T. Hartfiel

October29,1934–April7,2013 October29,1934–April7,2013 Ray T. Hartfiel, age 78, passed away April 7, 2013. He was born on October 29, 1934 to Richard and Ella Hartfiel in Lexington, Texas.

Ray was many things to many people: a beloved husband to Pat, a doting father to Ria, Mikey, Mark and Marty, an awesome Grandpa and Pepa to Cheyenne, Frances, Theo, Lauren and Ava, and a dedicated sports enthusiast and buddy to Richard, Reno and Joe.

Ray was Director of Information Technology at Entex Utility for several years, where he was manager, mentor and friend to many.

Ray had many interests in life. In his youth, he was an outstanding athlete and, as a football quarterback, helped win lots of games. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, dancing and traveling.

After many health issues, the game of 42 and playing in tournaments became a focus. Many friends were made playing dominoes in many places.

Ray will be remembered for his faith in God, his sense of fair play, his funny wit, his incredible courage and his “never meet a stranger” love for people.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Houston, with the Rev. James Berggren presiding. Interment followed at Woodlawn Garden of Memories in Houston.

Pallbearers were Sonny Baker, Tim Brewer, Loy Calaquian, Ed Grillo, Derrick Hartfiel, Russ Hyul, John McClain, Theodore McClain, Mark Newton, Rigo Rodriguez and Stanley Tjahijono.
