Blinn Hosts Alternative Teaching Certification Info Sessions

The TEACH program quickly trains graduates for a career in education. Blinn College will host sessions in Brenham and Bryan this month to answer questions from potential program applicants interested in alternative teacher certification.

The TEACH ( Teacher Education Alternative Certification Host) program is a cooperative effort between Blinn and the school districts in its service area to provide quality, affordable alternative teacher certification to assist in meeting area school districts’ personnel needs.

The program provides training for persons who already hold a bachelor’s degree. The program offers certifications in mathematics, science, Spanish, French, special education, generalist, bilingual generalist, English language arts, reading and social studies, and English as a second language generalist. Participants will be certified to teach in Texas after they successfully complete the program.

Free info sessions will be held:

April 16, 6 - 8 p.m., Bryan campus, Bldg. E Student Center, Room E- 105; map at www.blinn.edu/Map.

April 23 6 - 8 p.m., Brenham campus Student Center, Conference Room; www.blinn.edu/Map.

Interviews will be held on the Brenham campus on July 26 and applications are still being accepted.
