Lexington Homecoming Parade Entries Sought

The Lexington Chamber of Commerce is seeking organizations, churches, companies, and individuals to participate in this year’s 48th annual Lexington Homecoming Parade. Wide participation will help make the event an absolute success, not to mention thrill the hundreds of people who always line Main Street to watch this, one of the most popular traditions of the City of Lexington.

This year’s theme is “Story Book”, which opens the imagination to hundreds of potential specific themes for each parade entry.

Anyone wishing to participate can go online to the Lexington Chamber of Commerce website at www.lexingtontx.com and complete the entry form, which is due by April 19.

This year’s Homecoming Parade will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 10:30. Entrants are asked to register beginning at 8 a.m. that morning so that placements can be assigned. The set up will be in the Lexington High School parking lot, north of Eagle Stadium. Each participant will be assigned a number and position for the parade order upon registration, or when your form is received.

Plaques and ribbons will be awarded in several categories as shown on the entry form. If you would like to be eligible for these awards, please have your parade entry in your assigned position by 9:15 a.m. to be judged.

Any questions can be directed to the Chamber, P O Box 562, Lexington, or by calling Janice Schneider at 512-629-5100 or Lucy Torn at 512-963-4313.
