Just a Thought.......

Rev. DaveFischer

It’s interesting what you hear around a coffee table. Much of the conversation reflects what is called “conventional wisdom”, that is, the way folks understand the world today.

One of the commonly accepted truths in Lexington seems to be that if you want your child to excel in sports, you have to put them in a camp dedicated to that speciality. Better yet, hire them a personal coach.

I understand that in our new world of intense competition, such a reality seems to make sense.

But, I miss something. No one ever talks about putting their child in a camp to help them be a better Christian.

I don’t know whether than means being a Christian is less important, or whether it means that it is so easy for a young person to be a Christian in today’s world that they need no special training.

I’ll keep listening and let you know what the conventional wisdom is on that subject.
