City Elections Cancelled
The Lexington City Council issued an Order of Cancellation, cancelling the City Elections that were scheduled for May 11, 2013.
The seats of Tim Brown, Greg Langehennig, and Opal Lewis were up for election and all three of them turned in their packets to run again. However, no one else opted to run against them, leaving each of them unopposed in the spring election.
The Order of Cancellation cites that the three council members are thereby certified to serve another term on the council.
The move by the City Council to cancel the elections will save the City up to $5,000.
