Sheriff’s Report

March 18, 2013

Deputy Allen searched for a small blue car traveling westbound from Carmine into Giddings and was reported to be swerving all over the roadway. Subject had turned into Bucees.

The Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting a one vehicle rollover accident on Hwy 290 @ FM 180. Deputy Allen assisted Trooper Manner at the scene with traffic control.

A complainant reported that someone was putting nails under his truck tires. Deputy Rudolph took a report for criminal mischief. The case is currently under investigation.

Deputy Carvin and Deputy Jirasek were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle on CR 436 in Lexington. The vehicle was located and the occupants in the vehicle had permission to be on the property.

A resident reported a red 4 door Chevrolet truck parked on CR 207. Deputy Ledenbach searched the area and CR 205, but the truck had left.

March 19, 2013

Deputy Crockett was dispatched to Hwy 21 in Lincoln after a motorist reported a large bull out in the roadway.

A caller requested to speak to an officer in reference to a problem he was having with his ex-wife. Subject spoke to Deputy Crockett. No report needed at this time.

March 20, 2013

Deputy Ledenbach and Deputy Ray went to a residence on FM 112 after the homeowner called and reported that the storm took the roof off her house. Dispatch was able to contact Bluebonnet Electric to shut the power off.

A motorist reported two horses running on CR C @ CR 309 in Lexington. Deputy Ray located the horses and ran them back into a pasture.

Sheriff Meyer led a funeral from St. Margaret’s Church to the Giddings City Cemetery. Deputy Carvin, Deputy Crockett and Deputy Jirasek assisted with traffic control.

March 21, 2013

A motorist reported that her vehicle was having mechanical issues and she needed a wrecker on Hwy 290. Deputy Ledenbach located the caller and gave her a courtesy ride to Bucees to wait on her husband.

Deputy Crockett assisted with traffic control at the scene of an accident on FM 448. Trooper Manner took the report.

March 22, 2013

A concerned neighbor called to report a car that had been parked near his neighbor’s driveway for approx 12 hours. Deputy Crockett located the vehicle and it was all ok.

Deputy Carvin spoke to a complainant on CR 302 in Lexington. He advised that some people were tearing up a carport and a gate.

Deputy Ledenbach assisted Child Protective Services at a residence on CR 415 in Lexington. CPS was going to take custody of a child and requested assistance.

A complainant reported that her daughter’s boyfriend or husband was trespassing on her property and she wanted him removed. Deputy Ray met with the complainant and the matter was resolved for now.

March 23, 2013

Deputy Ray received information regarding an underage drinking party on CR 309 in Lexington. Upon arrival to the residence, several minors were located with alcohol and were issued citations.

A motorist reported a cow in the ditch on Hwy 77 near CR 327. Deputy Carvin and Deputy Jirasek located the cow and ran it into a pasture.

A complainant reported that her 2013 Ford F150 truck had been stolen. Deputy Crockett, Deputy Carvin and Deputy Jirasek spoke to the complainant and took a report for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was entered into the DPS computer as a stolen vehicle.

Deputy Ledenbach met with a complainant at the Lee County Junior Livestock Show who made a report because her Yeti Cooler was stolen.

A motorist called and advised he had left his vehicle on the side of the road on Hwy 77 near FM 1624 and walked to get some gas. He returned to find his truck gone. Deputy Ledenbach was on his way to the scene when the caller reported that he had located his truck. It was parked a little further down the road than what he thought.

March 24, 2013

A caller reported that there was a fire under or in his house. He also believed that someone had broken into his house on PR 1416. Deputy Ledenbach responded with the Giddings Fire Department, only to find no fire and no break in.

The Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from the same man that called regarding his house being on fire. This time he stated that he heard a gunshot. Deputy Ledenbach and Deputy Ray responded and nothing had occurred.

A complainant came into the Sheriff ’s Office and filed a telephone harassment complaint with Deputy Crockett.
