Memorial services for Kenneth Dee “Skeet” Quinney age 80 of Rockdale were held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.
Skeet was born on September 19, 1932 in Lexington, the son of Fady Dean and Molly (Muston) Quinney.
He and LeJean Zoch were married on October 29, 1955 in Houston, TX.
Skeet was a 1949 graduate of Lexington High School and served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He was a mechanic by trade, dairy truck driver and he was the owner of the S&S Trucking Company (Ready Mix Concrete plant in Rockdale) until 1982.
Skeet passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 at his home in Rockdale. He made the decision to donate his body to Texas A&M University Science Department.
Skeet enjoyed collecting antique cars as a hobby. He drove Miss Texas in the Rockdale Fair parades for many years in his 1957 Chevrolet.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Skeet is survived by his wife of 57 years, LeJean Quinney of Rockdale; Son, Dean Ray “Bo” Quinney of Rockdale; Daughters, Kay Bow and Gaye Bland & husband Charles both of Rockdale; Grandchildren; Kevin Bow, Kolby Bow & wife Reagan, Kyle Bow & wife Meggie, Cllayton Bland & wife Krystal, Caryn Bland, Kirk Quinney and Koy Quinney; Great-Grandchildren, Karsyn and Kady Bland, Kallen and Korbin Bow; Brothers, Searcy Dean Quinney of Pasadena, Dan Quinney of San Antonio, Don Quinney of Lexington and Lester Quinney of Anderson.
