This year’s EMS fundraiser catered to a smaller crowd than in years past, but the entertainment was still as big as ever. The Plummer Family Country Music Show, from Branson, Missouri, was once again the featured entertainment, bringing toe tapping country and gospel music, as well as their comedy act to the stage at Lexington’s Elementary School’s Cafetorium.

A large portion of the people in attendance traveled from outside Lee County to watch the Plummers, traveling from Taylor, Belton and Buckholts, to name a few.

The Lexington crowd may have been a little slimmer than usual at the fundraiser, given all the activity in town last Friday night. Competing with the Plummers were baseball and softball games at both high school fields, as well as the first semi-annual Lexington Antique Show and Sale at the park building.

Despite the smaller crowd, the event was enjoyed by everyone in attendance, and plans are already under way for next year’s EMS fundraiser.
