Sheriff’s Report

February 25, 2013

A caller reported that her son may have been assaulted by his father. Deputy Ray completed a welfare check.

Deputy Crockett assisted Trooper Thorp on a car accident on FM 3403, about half a mile off of Hwy 77.

A report was taken by Deputy Crockett for terroristic threat on CR 116.

February 26, 2013

Caller reported two horses out on the road on CR 326. Deputy Crockett responded to the call and notified the animals’ owner.

There were reports of a cow out on Hwy 21 one mile west of Hwy 77; Deputy Ayers searched the area, but was unable to locate any cows on the road.

February 27, 2013

Giddings Police Department requested assistance with a subject on the roof of the Knights Inn Hotel. Deputy Allen and Deputy Rudolph assisted the police department.

Deputy Carvin responded to a complaint of littering on CR 314.

Deputy Allen took a report for a runaway in the Lexington area.

February 28, 2013

Deputy Liles removed a cow from the road that was reported out on CR 217 near the Bullpen.

Motorist reported a cow out on FM 180 and Post Oak; Deputy Ledenbach was unable to locate.

A request for a welfare check at Town and Country Mobile Home Park was completed by Deputy Carvin and Deputy Jirasek.

A theft was reported on CR 430; Deputy Ledenbach took a report.

A caller reported that somebody was at her house and she wanted them to leave. Deputy Ray responded to the call and a report was taken.

March 1, 2013

Deputy Crockett took a report for theft of copper on FM 141.

Deputy Ayers was unable to locate some cattle reported out on FM 696 near Lexington.

Deputy Ayers assisted Officer Nurse in Lexington with a two car accident on Hwy 77.

There was a report of a suspicious vehicle near the entrance to the fairgrounds. Deputy Allen went to check on the vehicle and found all was ok with the vehicle, but Deputy Allen noticed a gas leak and the Giddings Fire Department was notified.

Child Protective Services requested assistance with locating a family on CR 415. Deputy Allen and Deputy Rudolph assisted the agency.

March 2, 2013

Caller reported that there may be a pasture party near her house and wanted deputies to check on it. Deputy Allen and Deputy Rudolph searched the area, but were unable to locate any party.

Deputy Rudolph assisted Trooper Kohleffel with an accident on FM 696 near Luminant Mine.

Deputy Allen and Deputy Liles worked a minor accident in Dime Box.

Washington County advised of two groups of motorcycles driving at high rates of speed on Hwy 290. Deputy Ayers and Trooper Weiser were able to make contact with several of the motorcyclists.

There was some vandalism reported on CR 431; Deputy Ayers responded and took a report.

Several people called in about people, horses, and vehicles blocking the road on FM 141. Deputy Ayers checked on the area and one vehicle was moved out of the way.

Deputy Allen responded to an animal complaint on CR 314. The subject was referred to a judge, as the report was a civil matter over ownership of the animal.

Deputy Allen and Deputy Ayers responded to a disturbance call on Hwy 290 E. The parties were separated for the night.

Deputy Rudolph was unable to locate a suspicious vehicle reported driving up and down CR A.

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle driving back and forth in front of her house on FM 141. The vehicle had left the area prior to Deputy Allen’s arrival.

March 3, 2013

Caller stated that she and her husband had gotten into a fight; Deputy Allen and Deputy Rudolph responded on FM 141.

Deputy Rudolph was unable to locate a vehicle reported parked on FM 141 near Starvin Marvin’s.

An alarm was set off on CR 234; Deputy Rudolph and Deputy Allen responded and did a walk through with the key holder. All was ok.

Dispatch received reports of a pasture party on CR 415. Deputy Allen and Deputy Rudolph responded and made contact with the property owner. All was ok. The music and lights were turned off.

A cow was out on CR 133 about a mile from Hwy 290. Deputy Rudolph removed the animal from the road.

Deputy Crockett removed a deer carcass off of the road on Hwy 290 near CR 234.

Mailbox damage was reported on County Roads 105, 200, 208, and 223. Deputy Crockett took a report and Deputy Ayers assisted.

Deputy Ayers removed a cow from the road on FM 1624 near CR 323.

Deputy Crockett completed a civil standby on FM 141.

A caller stated that her husband and her neighbor were arguing on CR 316. Deputy Ayers responded to the call.

Deputy Ayers took a report on CR 232 in reference to a juvenile call. All was ok.

Caller reported some mailbox damage on CR 200 to Deputy Allen.

Caller stated that somebody left a note wrapped in duct tape on her car on CR 403. Deputy Allen and Deputy Rudolph responded to the call and a report was taken.

Jail Count: 03/03/2013 59 Males: 49 Females: 10

The Lee County Jail had 1,316 inmate jail days in population and 63 inmate jail days in holding. The Lee County Dispatchers received 226 calls for service in the month of February. If anyone has information on the destruction of mail boxes over the last couple of weeks, call Crime Stoppers and collect a reward if your information leads to the arrest of the suspects.
